US rainwear brand November Rain is launching to the UK at national trade show Moda Woman this weekend, with ambitions to imitate its success and distribution levels in its home market as well as Japan, a key territory for the brand.
The label was launched by Belinda Coker, founder of environmental company Envirosax, which produces reusable bags. November Rain, which specialises in fashionable, waterproof ponchos, operates on the same ethical and green principles as Envirosax, producing ponchos that are printed with environmentally friendly inks and crafted with heat sealed seams, recycling as much as possible as part of the production process.
November Rain donates 10 per cent of its revenue to water projects in developing countries, offering full transparency of where and how the moneys have been spent. The brand has recently completed its second successful scheme, installing a fresh water system in a village in Malawi, complete with drinking water and sanitation at a cost of €10k, which means it has already generated over ten times the amount via online sales of its ponchos.
Launching wholesale in the UK this month, the brand will make its debut at Moda, and is looking for distributors throughout Europe and further afield.
The brand has released two ranges, with a third being launched at Moda. Each range comprises of three designs, with two patterned and one solid version available in a selection of vibrant colours.
