Danish premium brand Sand is relaunching to the UK for a/w 18 following a period of absence. The brand will be represented by London based Oldstrom Agency whose portfolio also includes By Malina, Dea Kudibal, Caroline Svedbom and Campomaggi.
Before pulling out of the UK due to inconsistencies in distribution, the brand had around 75 accounts. Caroline Ekstrom, owner of Oldstrom Agency, says she aims to reconnect with relevant boutiques as well as grow the brand through new stockists, with Sand showing at this month’s edition of Scoop. “I have very big ambitions for this brand, believing that the scope is huge. The strategy is to find the right long-term boutique partners and grow from there. We will be launching at Scoop this January and already have some great boutiques in the diary in the showroom, so a very exciting season ahead,” she says.
Sand’s aesthetic is driven by innovation and timeless design. The collection offers cool and sensual fashion with elegant, sculptural silhouettes and feminine detailing, with the a/w 2018 collection featuring a strong 60s and 70s vibe. Groovy prints are inspired by the modernist artwork of BD Graft and the cubistic artwork of Jean Michel Verbeeck. Manish fabric and dinner jacket / tuxedo details are mixed with rock-chic elements and a sensitive feminine look appears in a naïve romantic charm of vintage flowers.
Oldstrom Agency has also taken on Italian handbag brand Campomaggi, which is officially launching to the UK for a/w 18. The brand already has a number of well-known boutique stockists, including Little London in Chichester, Jules B in Newcastle and Vicabi in Chelsea. All products are handmade from Italian leathers in Tuscany.
