When Life Gives You Melons Podcast girls in studio

Wacoal Europe’s global lingerie, swim and activewear brand Freya has launched a celebrity–studded podcast, When Life Gives You Melons, hosted by TV presenter Maya Jama.

The brand has created the eight-part podcast series aimed at busy women that are looking for the perfect addition to their commute. Alongside host Maya Jama, the podcast will feature a wide range of inspirational women, discussing everything from boobs to breakups, friendships through to careers or simply surviving the hectic Christmas season.

When Life Gives You Melons will be amplified across Europe through social media, PR and via talent and influencers, echoing media consumption habits of the Freya audience. Each episode in the series will feature one of Freya’s best-selling product ranges, with host Maya Jama featured in the lingerie on web and social media.

Extending the reach of the campaign is media partner and female lifestyle title Refinery29, who will be supporting When Life Gives You Melons throughout the campaign on both the UK and German website with editorial features, social media takeovers, display media and product articles.

Episode One, “The Worst Date You’ve Ever Been On” is available to download now and features host Maya Jama, former Saturday’s singer Vanessa White, MTV Presenter Rebecca Dudley and Louise Troen from popular dating app Bumble.

Episode Two “The Best Career Advice You’ve Ever Been Given” takes on the topic of careers, featuring TV personality Katie Piper, radio presenter Gemma Cairney and BLEACH London founder, Alex Brownsell, discussing everything from work politics, power dressing and the gender pay gap. Freya is inviting listeners to join in the conversation using #MelonsPodcast.

“Freya is a fun, modern brand for fun modern women. That means engaging directly with our audience in the most entertaining way possible – and the smartest way to do that is by being exactly where they are,” says chief marketing officer Laura Simon.

“Podcasts are one of the fastest growing mediums amongst our target audience, so our aim was to create a brand new channel that would entertain and inspire them as they go about their busy day – giving them support, laughter and great advice direct in their ear.”

When Life Gives You Melons is available to download via iTunes and podcast provider, Acast. For more information visit www.freyalingerie.com/melons
