A new design team at British occasionwear brand John Charles has moved the collection and signature of the brand significantly forward for s/s 18. Statement dresses for MOB and occasions remain key to the brand’s offer, however, they have been given a more modern appeal whilst staying true to the DNA of the brand.
This season’s designs see a variety of new shapes added to the signature John Charles silhouette, designed to be a nod to the latest trends whilst still keeping a familiar aesthetic. From a fun, floaty T-length to a striking floor-length that blurs the line between night and day, this collection offers a flattering shape for every woman.
Soft metallics blend seamlessly with pops of citrus, blush pinks and classic statement blues. Renowned for creating unique and hand crafted embroideries and embellishments, this season John Charles has introduced an exclusive new hand painted lace, offering a greater sense of luxury and individuality.
“We have appointed a new design team and s/s 18 is their first collection, and we believe it is evident that we have moved forward as a brand. Our designs are fresh and modern, but we have also made sure that we stay true to our core values and what John Charles is known for,” says James Ellis, marketing director of John Charles. “We have just exhibited for three days at Moda and we have had a very good show. The feedback to the collection has been phenomenal, which proves that our customers still want that statement dress, something special for a special occasion,” he says.
