German womenswear brand Bianca has reported a strong s/s 18 season, with orders significantly up on s/s 17, driven by an updated collection and commercial price points which helped boost sales and which the brand is looking to build on going into a/w 18.
“We’ve had a very successful season, and we still have the high summer to sell,” says Karen Brookes, UK sales director. “The collection has moved on in many ways. We did so well because all colour groups were strong, and we kept the price point down which was noticed by all customers. We bought in many new styles and expanded on our trouser collection, which enabled us to bring in new customers, so we are covering all age groups.”
She adds: “Customers all mentioned our keen price point, and good quality of fabrics. They feel we support them well with marketing, offering a good repeat service, regular visits to shops providing Bianca day events, and staff training. Shops have been commenting that they are building up a good Bianca customer which offers a good service. When the delivery comes in, they know pieces will start selling as soon as they hit the shop floor.”
The s/s 18 collection saw another strong offer of dresses and affordably priced T-shirts, wholesaling at £15 and retailing £44.95, with prints and colours further driving the commercial appeal of the range.
“Autumn/winter 17 sales have also already got off to a good start, with customers repeating styles and feeling so confident, they are already booking appointments for next season,” says Brookes. “We recently moved to a new ground floor showroom and have noticed the increase of passing trade. We will continue showing at Moda as this was a great success for us opening new accounts, as well as showing in Glasgow for two days. This provides a service for customers unable to get to London,” she adds.
